Hello and welcome!

I'm a LA based director, dramaturg, teacher and creative producer originally from Juneau Alaska. I make "subversively shiny" work for the stage that experiments with form, content and the role of the audience. I also explore new and safe ways of making performance in the rehearsal room, through new play development and devising ensembles. I founded and curate the blog Ask A Director and have written about theatre and performance for culturebot.org and howlround.com.

Recent projects include: TITLE LOADING created by all_caps (2017 Fusebox Festival), The Bigot by William Glick (2017 UT Austin New Theatre), Dry Land by Ruby Rae Spigel (UT Austin), The Sky Game by Kimberly Belflower (Peppercorn Theatre) and She Buried the Pistol by Lydia Blaisdell (2018 Cincy Fringe). My production of ENRON by Lucy Prebble (UT Austin) received a total of six Austin Critics Table Award nominations, including Best Director and Best Production.

I've directed and developed work at Perseverance Theatre, Superhero Clubhouse, The Civilians, Conni's Avant Garde Restaurant, Colt Coeur, TerraNOVA Collective, Dixon Place, Columbia University, New York University, The Vineyard Theatre and Ensemble Studio Theatre.

I'm a member of the 2012 Lincoln Center Directors Lab, 2018/19 National Directors Fellow (O'Neill, NNPN, SDC and the Kennedy Center), 2014/15 Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab and was in Bucharest Romania in 2013/2014 as a Fulbright Research Fellow. I received my M.F.A. in Directing from the University of Texas at Austin and Iím an SDC Associate.
